The following economic players have taken an active part in the mobilization of businesses on both shores of the Mediterranean, in commercial exchanges, industrial partnerships and the promotion of the territories and of their industrial and technological competences.

Being a major concern around the Mediterranean, the water and environmental management is a key economic sector in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, with an industrial infrastructure, training and R&D, really involved in sustainable development. Moreover, the region hosts international bodies in this sector.

This topic is a strong point in the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, through international events on economic development, the presence of specialized international bodies, long-run exchanges in the banking sector and by chambers of commerce and industry dealing with the South shore...

As consequences of all the know-how in the region and of the intensity of exchanges between both shores in several areas, training and technical support actions have strengthened the whole lot of partnerships.

On top of technology in several areas of activity (microelectronics, marine technologies...), economic development bodies, technology transfer structures oriented towards SMEs and startup support organizations have developed close relationships with the Mediterranean.

There is a long history of textile in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, especially as regards innovation and fashion. Relationships with the South Mediterranean shore are numerous, particulary in the production field.
