Since 1997 : An ambition for the Union for the Mediterranean
a shared ambition to give the Mediterranean basin a renewed economic primacy to work towards a provisional safeguard for a more peaceful future, by leading the way in applying the principles of sustainable development
- To contribute to the qualitative and quantitative development of technical universities and engineering schools (undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education in science and engineering) in the Mediterranean area.
- To partner the development of industry in the Mediterranean area by organising operations involving joint research projects, technology transfer to SMEs and the creation of new business activities.
- To mobilise the competencies and resources of RMEI members for sustainable development focussed actions.
- To strengthen the links between European technical university and engineering school networks and the RMEI member institutions.
- To encourage RMEI members to engage in thinking and actions aimed at promoting the social and economic development of the Mediterranean area.
