French and Tunisian open source professionals getting together

The workshop "Competitiveness cluster and clustering around free software" organized on July 22nd 2008 at the Elgazala technopark has welcomed French and Tunisian experts, as well as Lamia Chafia Sghaier, Secretary of State at the Tunisian IT Ministry, responsible for IT, Internet and free software.

Among IT professionals from Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur were Traian Muntean, research manager at SCS competitiveness cluster, Anne-Ingrid De Miras, communication manager at Libertis (FLOSS cluster), and Lotfi Hamdi, head of the international relationships department at Marseille Innovation.

Libertis representative suggested to create a CD with open source freeware. Moreover, Hassen Hamdi, Tunisian doctorate student, will soon go to Tunisia to chair a workshop on Internet monitoring software free of charge.

Tunisia could be the guest of honour at a professional trade show on free software in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur for the second time. Invitations have been launched for the next IT event in Marseilles.
