Mike Riddell, famous cetacean specialist and president of Rimmo association, should soon become the head of the Western Mediterranean Observatory. Christian Estrosi, president of the Alpes-Maritimes department council and secretary of State of France overseas territories, has announced the creation of this observatory which should be set up in the Alpes-Maritimes department and whose aim is to increase the cooperation between the 7 Western Mediterranean countries (France, Monaco, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Spain) in order to preserve biodiversity and water quality.
