Cross border innovation and cooperation day (organized by the CAFI and the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes)
A
cross border innovation and cooperation day will be held on January 24th 2008 at Sophia Antipolis in the CICA (International Center for Advanced Communications). The event is being organized by the
C.A.F.I. – (Association of the Franco-Italian Alpes’ Conference), which groups the French departements of the Alpes Maritimes, the Alpes de Haute Provence, the Hautes Alpes, Isère, Savoie and Haute Savoie and the Italian provinces of Imperia, Cuneo and Turin and the autonomous Val Aoste region, as well as the
General Council of the Alpes Maritimes.
The organizers hope to achieve two goals. The first is to identify and highlight the innovation finance opportunities available under the new European 2007 – 2013 program, and those offered under
Franco-Italian Alcotra cross border cooperation program in particular.
The second objective is to set-up Franco-Italian working groups to focus on a number of key areas, which have been identified during the preparations for the new Alcotra Program (Eco design/Eco conception/Sustainable development, Industry and Multimedia Content, Biotechnologies/Life Sciences, Nano and Micro technologies, Transport and Logisitics, Immaterial innovation infrastructures).
The conference is part of the initiative launched in June 2006 « to improve and promote cross border cooperation on innovation » organized by the C.A.F.I. and the province of Turin.
This process is aimed at strengthening the long-term economic future of the Franco-Italian region by helping to develop and promote joint Franco-Italian projects that will be suitable candidates for future tenders.
